EXHIBIT E
RECLAMATION PLAN
GF_NERAL DESCRIPTION

The primary present use of the land is rangeland. The primary future use of the
land will be rangeland. See Exhibit I for more complete soils information.
The property is located in the northern section of an oversize tract of irrigated
farm land. Even prior to the installation of a center pivot sprinkler, the ground was
way to rocky and permeable to raise any kind of crop. This is why the property
owner allowed the development of the first pit. My files indicate mining has
occurred here since before 1973.
Topsoil is very limited averaging in depth less than 6". A stockpile of topsoil
currently exists as shown on Map E.1. Once the mining.has been completed to
the northwest making a rectangle, this topsoil will be spread on the side slopes. A
new topsoil stockpile will be created just inside the west boundary of the ?
permitted area in the same fashion as the existing one. This topsoil will be used ~,, l;,~d ~~
on the new slopes created when this west end of the area is mined. wP~-.~c ~~
The entire floor of the pit will not be seeded until all mining has ceased and final
reclamation is performed. The floor will be used to store gravel until the mining
operation is complete.
RECLAMATION
Upon completion of the mining operation, the land will be rectangular shaped with
side slopes not greater than 3 to 1. The eastern slope and the east 550' of the
southern slope of the pit are already reclaimed. It was the first mined in the early
70's and has been shaped and reclaimed for many years. Because of Bean Lane,
no further activity is possible in this area.
See Map E.1 for pit in its current state.
The north side slope is shaped 500' west of the northeast corner. Slopes are at
least 3H:1 V. Topsoil has not been applied.
The bottom of the existing pit has been mined to its full depth.
The existing asphalt road from the gate to the pit floor shall remain after
reclamation, so the property owner will have good access when needed.rd'-
Duriny the mining operation each section of the exterior pit wall will be shaped to
less than 3 to 1 slope once the toe of the slope has been mined back to its limit.
