~•
EXHIBIT D
MINING PLAN
Please see Map D.1 for ease in reference.
Since this is a conversion of two other mining permits the mining will continue in a
north west direction along the face in the pit. Very little topsoil exists on site. The
topsoil which can be salvaged is done so using one of two available methods
depending on equipment resources available.
Topsoil is stockpiled using a paddle wheel scraper to excavate, transport, and
stockpile the material to the west of the mining operation. If a scraper is
unavailable then the topsoil is pushed up using a dozer into the stockpile.
Material is removed directly from the pit wall using rubber tired loaders. On
occasion some pit run may be pushed up with a dozer to a central stockpile
location for processing through the crusher.
Material is then processed through normal portable crushing equipment including
roll crushers, cone crusher, and impact crushers. Material is hauled away from
the pit using over the road gravel trucks. Crushing spreads shall be located as
close to the mining wall as possible.
As the mining progresses across the pit the pi floor shall be used for stockpiling of
crushed materials.
Pit scales are located along the east edge of the pit floor. Scales are set on
concrete footings for stability. These footings will be removed during reclamation
and either buried on site, or removed form the permit area.
complete description.
Some seasonal ground water has been encountered during three of the last 15
years. The Division of Water Resources has required us to submit an
augmentation plan addressing their concerns. Please see Exhibit G for a
We estimate that mining will continue over an indefinite period of time until the
source is depleted. It is estimated that this permit should allow mining for a
period of 10 years depending on local demand for materials. 4~-
A ortable as halt lant ma also be set u in the lant for certain eriods a ain ~1'f ~
P P P y P P P 9 l R-"o
dictated by construction activity in the area.
