Staff has reviewed Annual Reports and discussed
the issue with NALCO representative Ed Stewart. Based on those discussions, it seems prudent to
continue mining from Phase 2 into Phase 6 rather than moving into Phase 3. Therefore, staff is Dleased
to inform NALCO that TR-OS is annroved.
Due to Division time constraints it was not possible to do an inspection of the site to evaluate whether
the TR and current conditions warrant any Financial Warranty adjustments by the Decision Date. Staff
and Mr. Stewart will set up an inspection in the next 2 weeks and make that assessment at that time.
The warranty was updated in late 2005 so staff feels that any current conditions are accounted for in the
short term.
If you need additional information, please contact me at the Division of Reclamation, Mining and
Safety, Grand Junction Field Office, 101 S. 3rd St., Suite 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501,
telephone no. 970.241.1117.
Sincerely,
~./~- ~'
G.
