other questions you didn't mention below. #62, 69 aren't addressed on your
memo.
Thanks.
Jim
-----Original Message-----
From: Ryan Z Taylor [mailto:rztaylor@fs.fed.us]
Sent: Tuesday, February O8, 2005 4:01 PM
To: jim.burnell@state.co,us
Cc: Liane Mattson; Levi Broyles
Subject: PR-10 comments clarification
Sim,
Per our conversation this morning here is a clarification of the Forest
Service's reply to Mountain Coal Company's (MCC) South of the Divide Permit
Revision (PR-10):
We received CDMG's Dec 16, 2009 letter outlining MCC's responses to
comments. The Forest Service has reviewed MCC's response to questions:
#5 - pg. 2.04-8 - please add reference to methane drainage wells.
#9 - pg. 2.04-30 - please add mapped faults to the Map 9.
#10 - pg. 2.04-39 - please discuss whether any indications have been
identified of surface or groundwater resources in the SOD area being
associated with faults.
#13 - pg. 2.09-91- 1st paragraph, "age" is more appropriately referred to
as "residence time," consistent with the Mayo report.
#48 - pg. 2.09-156 - please include US Forest Service sensitive plant
species to the list.
#50 - pg. 2.04-160, Table 26 - please include wild turkey (Meleagris
gallopavo).
#51 - pg. 2.04-169 - add the sharp-shinned hawk (Accipeter striatus) and
on pg. 2.09-171 - add the boreal toad (Bufo boreas boreas)
#52 - pg. 2.04-171 - last sentence should read, "No designated lynx habitat
key linkage areas have been mapped in the vicinity of the lease area.
The Forest Service believes MCC has adequately addressed the above
comments.
However, our letter to CDMG on June 4, 2004 contained several comments that
were not address by MCC in their Dec, 2004 response. Since they were not
addressed by MCC, these comments were rolled into our latest comment letter
dated Jan, 28, 2005 (sent by email and hard copy) This recent letter
also included additional comments with respect to adequacy within the PR-10
package.
I hope this clarifies our recent correspondence and meets your needs for
record keeping. If you have any questions please contact me.
Thank you,
Ryan
Ryan Z.
