Public Notice <br />Lodestar Energy, Inc., Mountain Operations, HC35, Box 370, Helper, UT, 84526, has filed <br />with the Division of Minerals and Geology a complete application for a technical revision <br />to the Division of Minerals and Geology for its approved Munger Canyon Mine and Loma <br />Loadout, Mining and Reclamation Permit No. C-81-020. The proposed revision provides <br />for the construction of a coal mine waste disposal pile. This project includes the <br />construction of a sediment pond and associated collection ditches. Approximately 4.9 <br />acres of land will be disturbed by this project which is located on land managed by the <br />Bureau of Land Management. <br />The Munger Canyon Mine is located approximately 18 miles north of Loma, CO along State <br />Highway 139. East Salt Creek is west of the permit boundary. The surface of the permit <br />area is owned by the United States. The permit area is encompassed within portions of <br />Sections 21, 27, 28, 29, 31, 32, 33 and 34 of Township 7 South, Range 102 West, 6'" P.M. <br />and Sections 2, 3 and 4 of Township 8 South, Range 102 West, 6`" P.M. <br />The Loma Loadout is approximately one-half mile east of Loma, Colorado. The surface of <br />the permit area is owned by the Union Pacific Railroad. The permit area is encompassed <br />within portions of the SW'/<SW~/a of Section 34 Township 2 North, Range 3 West, Ute <br />Meridian and Portions of the NEB/<NWY< of Section 3 Township 1 North, Range 3 West, Ute <br />Meridian. <br />The mine site sections are contained within the U.S. Geological Survey 7.5 minute Howard <br />Canyon and Garvey Canyon Quadrangle maps. The Loadout sections are contained within <br />the U.S. Geological Survey 7.5 minute Mack Quadrangle Map. <br />A copy of the technical revision application is available for public inspection at the Mesa <br />County Clerk and Recorder's office, 544 Rood, Grand Junction, CO.
