Public Notice Lodestar Energy, Inc., Mountain Operations, HC35, Box 370, Helper, UT, 84526, has filed with the Division of Minerals and Geology a complete application for a technical revision to the Division of Minerals and Geology for its approved Munger Canyon Mine and Loma Loadout, Mining and Reclamation Permit No. C-81-020. The proposed revision provides for the construction of a coal mine waste disposal pile. This project includes the construction of a sediment pond and associated collection ditches. Approximately 4.9 acres of land will be disturbed by this project which is located on land managed by the Bureau of Land Management. The Munger Canyon Mine is located approximately 18 miles north of Loma, CO along State Highway 139. East Salt Creek is west of the permit boundary. The surface of the permit area is owned by the United States. The permit area is encompassed within portions of Sections 21, 27, 28, 29, 31, 32, 33 and 34 of Township 7 South, Range 102 West, 6'" P.M. and Sections 2, 3 and 4 of Township 8 South, Range 102 West, 6`" P.M. The Loma Loadout is approximately one-half mile east of Loma, Colorado. The surface of the permit area is owned by the Union Pacific Railroad. The permit area is encompassed within portions of the SW'/<SW~/a of Section 34 Township 2 North, Range 3 West, Ute Meridian and Portions of the NEB/<NWY< of Section 3 Township 1 North, Range 3 West, Ute Meridian. The mine site sections are contained within the U.S. Geological Survey 7.5 minute Howard Canyon and Garvey Canyon Quadrangle maps. The Loadout sections are contained within the U.S. Geological Survey 7.5 minute Mack Quadrangle Map. A copy of the technical revision application is available for public inspection at the Mesa County Clerk and Recorder's office, 544 Rood, Grand Junction, CO.
