.. ; ,,
2. In Exhibit 4e-7,(proposed AVF environmental monitoring plan) TCC will
establish alluvial wells to monitor the Fish Creek AVF upstream and
downstream of the subsided area. The permit text commits to installing
the first two of these wells one year prior to longwall mining in panel 13
Right. Please include in the permit text an approximate date of
installation of these first two wells given the projected rate of mining
advance.
3. In Exhibit 4e-7, please modify the permit text under the subheadings
Alluvium and Surface Water to monitor the proposed wells quarterly for
water levels and fie/d parameters.
4. In addition, in Exhibit 4e-7, what is the anticipated period for gauging the
surface water stations in section 17, T5N, R86W? The Division suggests
gauging of the site twice in the first year folowing installation and once
each year following spring runoff at this new site. Please include this
commitment in the permit text.
5. No monitoring commitment was provided in the permit text for the alluvial
well to be established in section 11, T5N, R86W. Please include a
monitoring frequency for this well in the permit text.
6. How will subsidence affect the downstream well for the mining in panel
13 Right? This well will ultimately become the upstream alluvial
monitoring well for future miningto the north. What changes regarding
water level can be expected at this location following subsidence? This
site will require surveying of the top of casing following subsidence.
Please add this commitment to the permit text.
7. Water quality data was included in Table 9R for spring 58608-1. Where
is this spring located? It does not appear on Figure 5K. Please add this
spring to Figure 5K.
Comment to Janet: TCC is proposing to submit environmental monitoring for
Fish Creek in the Annual Hydrology Report. I am not sure this is the best way to
submit this information but I will leave that possible issue to you.
This concludes my review. If you have questions, please let me know.
CC: Dan Hernandez
• Page 2
