NOTICE OF PROPOSED DECISION <br />The Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division has approved with conditions an <br />application for a revision (PR - 002) to the existing permit to conduct coal <br />mining and reclamation operations submitted by the Pittsburg & Midway Mining <br />Company for the Edna Strip Mine. <br />The Edna Strip Mine operation is located in Routt County, approximately 5 <br />miles northwest of Oak Creek, Colorado. The mine is a surface operation with <br />an anticipated maximum production capacity of 250,000 tons of coal per year. <br />The coal to be mined is both privately and federally owned, as is the surface <br />to be affected. The revised permit area encompasses approximately 4,950.0 <br />acres in Sections 13, 14, 23 and 24 Tn Township 4 North, Range 86 West of the <br />Sixth Principal Meridian. <br />This proposed approval decision is based on a finding that the proposed <br />operation will comply with all requirements of the Colorado Surface Coal <br />Mining Reclamation Act, C.R.S. 34-33-101, et seg., and the regulations <br />promulgated thereunder. <br />Copies of the proposed decision including stipulations, are on file for public <br />inspection at the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division, Room 215, <br />Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203 and at the <br />County Clerk's Office in Routt County, at 522 Lincoln, in Steamboat Springs, <br />Colorado. Persons with an interest that may be adversely affected by the <br />proposed decision may request a formal hearing before the Mined Land <br />Reclamation Board on the proposed decision. Such request must be made within <br />thirty (30) days of the initial publication of this notice, must be in <br />writing, and must state with reasonable specificity the reasons for the <br />request and the objections to the proposed decision. <br />SLM/eke <br />5078G <br />
