B. Primary alterations in the original permit
I. Reclamation area in Area 1 was delayed and would
become part of the backfill slope extending southward from
• the back of the Castle Concrete Sand Pit.
a)Backfilling that had been completed would remain
but would be reutilized as a transportation route
between the two pits.
2. Mining of coarse gravels included in TR#I
were incorporated into the permit thereby
technically eliminating TR#1.
3. Timetables of mining east of Academy Boulevard
were altered drastically calling for more open mining in
more areas rather than a purely sequential process.
4. final topography east of Academy Boulevard was altered and
expanded to fit the additional mining area.
5. Entire revegetation approach was altered to include
more modern species, a more rapid approach to
achieving vegetation cover, and greater adaptability to
possible future uses other than that designated.
C. In general, the amendment was a complete rewrite of
the original permit and TR#1 (minor exhibits were generally
not altered).
• D. It is suggested that for more detailed information
on particular aspects of the amendment the amendment document
be carefully reviewed in conjunction with the adequacy letter
and the responses to the adequacy letter.
•
History
Page HIS-8
