1985 PERMIT AMENDMENT PROVISIONS - SUMMARY <br />The following is a summary of the provisions of the 1985 permit <br />amendment and a review of the alterations this amendment caused in <br />the original permit provisions. <br />A. Amendment summary <br />1. Map HS3 shows the area included in the amended permit. <br />2. PURPOSES: <br /> a)To increase the amount of land included in the <br /> permit. <br /> b)To revise and update the mining and reclamation <br /> plans. <br /> c) To coordinate the reclamation of the western <br /> portions of this operation with the Castle Concrete Sand <br /> Pit located immediately to the north. <br />3. LAND INCREASE: <br /> a)A small parcel of land located west of <br /> Academy Boulevard was added to the permit. <br /> b)The main increase in land area occurred on the <br /> east side of Academy Boulevard. <br /> c)The permit area was increased from 159.4 acres to <br />• 325.6 acres. <br />4. MINING PLAN REVISION: <br /> a)Complete rephasing of the operational layout <br /> and sequence of operation. <br /> b)Inclusion of TR#1 into permit. <br /> 1) All provisions of TR#1 still apply. <br /> c)Alteration to allow deposition of wash fines <br /> as backfill in the Castle Concrete Sand Pit <br />5. RECLAMATION PLAN REVISION: <br /> a)More precise definition of final topography on <br /> west side of Academy Boulevard. <br /> b)Elimination of backfill on North and East slopes <br /> of Area 1 (see coordination with Castle Concrete <br /> Sand Pit). <br /> c)Change in revegetation program. <br /> 1) Elimination of mulching. <br /> 2) More reliance on developmental processes <br /> in vegetation. <br />u <br />History <br />Page HIS1'i <br /> <br />
