Barra.
Drv~sion Director
The Division has completed the review of adequacy answers submitted by Peabody
Coal Company on November 14, 1991. We agree with moat material submitted but
still have two concerns as follows:
1. Our map measurements indicate that some Diversion 1 slopes will
exceed 17 percent. Our SEDCAD computer rune indicate that riprap
sizing for the flows involved change at 17 percent slope values.
Please indicate in the permit pages that slopes will be held to less
than 17 percent or provide a riprap design for ditch reaches that
exceed 17 percent.
2. The vegetated portions of Diversion 1 will need some type of
stabilization prior to vegetation establishment. Please propose
some means to accomplish this. '
We have no further concerns at this time
questions.
Sincerely,
_~ _ r ~ j _- ~ _.
Carl B.
