I am seriously concerned that this strip mine high
above Manitou Springs and Colorado Springs is becoming a real
scar on the mountains and nuisance to the adjoining
subdivisions of Colorado Springs and Manitou Springs. One of
the problems has been that we have received little or no
notice when Castle Concrete asked for modification and
development of the quarry. I am not aware of any policy
which allows the citizens to have some input into the
location of strip mines. I wonder if legislation could
insure that the public has notice and a voice in the
location, expansion, and development of strip mines in
Colorado. Thank you for your consideration of these issues.
Sincerely,
/~~~~~~~
Spottswood W. H. Williams
SWHW.n
Encl.
