Clarification of Modifications Included in the Technical Revision
Submitted on January 9. 1996 -Inclusion of Thickness of Drain Cover Fill.
Deferral of Request to Change Technical Specification For Thickness of Low
Volume Solution Collection Stem Fill.
Dear Mr. Keffelew:
The Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mining Company ("CC&V") requests that the Office of
Mined Land Reclamation ("OMLR") now include CC&V's proposal of January 9, 1996 to
modify the thickness of the Drain Cover Fill for 1996 construction. CC&V requests that the
similar request for modification of the thickness of the Low Volume Solution Collection System
Fill be deferred until such time as CC&V determines it may be appropriate to re-submit it.
For clarity, and as identified in our letter of January 31, 1996, the proposal to modify the grain
size distribution of the Low Volume Solution Collection System Fill has remained in the
Technical Revision since its submission. As you know, this modification also enhances our
opportunities to use Pad #3 and Pad #4 material which, then, facilitates reclamation.
CC&V appreciates the time you and the OMLR staff have committed to review these 1996
conduction specifications.
Hardaway
Environmental Affairs
cc: Jim Stevens
FILE: CC&VSTIP.006
