SUITE 350
LANEWOO D.COLORA00 80228

-d AY 1~ ,~yU
iflfJEi~ LlayU
7:~^~ APAAYInAI r11\~~•
Pursuant to the Division's recommendation in corres-
pondence dated April 12, 1990, Cotter hereby requests a technical
revision to the above-captioned permit in order to characterize
the JD-6 mine as an intermittent operation with periods of
inactivity in excess of 180 days. Supportive of this request is
the information conveyed in Cotter's correspondence to the
Division dated March 20, 1990 (see attached copy).
In response to the Division's assessment of which
activities Cotter had listed as mining operations in its March
20, 1990 correspondence were actually mining operations, Cotter
has revised its previous mining activities listing.
Specifically, Cotter had characterized some activities as
maintenance which are better categorized as being preparatory to
mining and, accordingly, constitute development/mining
activities. In order to clarify this matter, the matrix set
forth below was developed in order to describe the redefinition
of activities listed as "Mining Operations Since 1980" in the
attached correspondence.
