Rockslide hazards to hikers in Williams Canyon which has had a public
trail in it for many years,
2. Drainage and soil erosion leading to the pollution of Fountain Creek
which flows through the City of Manitou firings.
3. Concern for high water hazards down Williams Canyon and at Garden
Drive endangering life and property in these areas. This relates to the
proposed drainage plan.
4. Post mining land use concerns related to dust problems and erosion
control.
5. Reclamation concerns with past reclamation efforts by the applicants
and their willingness to properly fund and be held accountable financially
for those efforts.
6. The change in plan to disturb new areas not previously planned for
mining as outlined in the 1984 amendment and the impact from a drainage
perspective that this will have on Williams Canyon and the City of Manitou
Springs.
