GENERAL NOTES
1) CONCRETE
Concrete has been designed and shall be constructed in
accordance with the American Concrete Institute Bulliding
Code (A.C.I. 316 -33 and A.C.I. 301) "Specifications for
Structural Concrete for Buildings". Section 1.3 "Inspection"
of A.C.I. 316 -33 M deleted in entirety, sec "Field Observations"
paragraph. All concrete, except as noted otherwise, shall be
of stone aggregate concrete, 3,000 psi minimum compressive
strength at 28 days. All concrete in contact with son ehari be
of type If cement with tricalcium oluminote less than 5k.
2) REINFOC;CING
Reinforcing le to be new bClet pi A.S.T.M. A615, Grade 60
except ties end bars to be well shall be grade 40. Bars to
be welded must be Grade 40 with a maximum carbon content of
0.30 percent and a maxlnum na'ngonese content of 0.60 percent.
Welded wire fabric shelf be in accordance with A.S.T.M. A165.

3) BAR PLACING
All reinficell shall be pioced In a manner to as to avold
displacement when placing concrete. Bars shall be placed to
cicerances noted on drawings. Placinf shall be h accordance
with C.R.S.I., "Plecing Reinforcing Bch-c. The bar placer is to
familiarize himself .pith 0 detolt'shown on the structural
drawings and shall use these d ar.'ings in conjunction with approved
shop drawings for placement of reinforcing.
4) FOU NDAT1ONS
The structure is to be founded on spread footings with an
a!lowcble son becrinG prei of 3,000 pcf. See sell report
('13640 m• prepared by A.G. Wassanoor, Inc., fated January 6, 1991
for the preceding and at; ether pertinent Information. The
contractor than be fully versed h ail aspects of the son
report prior to starting conctruetlon. Son beoring strata
shall be verified by the sons erJineer prior to hctallation
of foundations.
5) TEMPORARY BRACING
It shall be the responsibility of the contractor to provide aK
temporary bracing, shoring, etc., to resist all construction, wind,
earth, and other locds imposed on the structure during construction.
Any unsafe conditions noted by our office will be given to the
architect for his action. The design and Installation of any
required bracing or shoring shaft be by the contractor.
6) SHOP DRAWINGS
The contractor than submit shop drawings for concrete mix
designs end concrete reinforcing for engineers review prior
to fabrication. Any fabrication done prior to return of shop
drawings will be at controctor's risk. Submit one sepia and one
print of drawings and two espies of Shop drawings chill be submitted
through the architect for distribution, unless prior arrangements have
been made, to as to allow 1 v, lna days �yw time by the
structural en£lneer. Shop a iii inye submitted without the review
stomp of the contractor or shop drawings which are made from the
structural drawings wnl be returned to the architect unchecked,
for resubmittal.
7) FIELD OBSERVATION
The contractor shall inform the structural engineer at least 46 hours
prior to casting any concrete so as to allow the structural engineer
the opportunity to review the placement of embedded items.
B) DIMENSION VERIFICATION
All dimensions on structural drawings to be checked against
field verified.
