This building will house compressors to supply compressed air to the E Seam. The foot-
print will be very similar, if not identical, to the compressor building at Shaft No. 2 that supplies
compressed air to the B Seam.
The 14 feet high steel building will be erected on a concrete pad measuring 30 feet by 40 feet with a 6
feet apron extending out from the building. Approximately 64.5 cubic yards of concrete will be
required to complete the pad. The volume of the building will be approximately 18,951 cubic feet.
The attached revised Map 53B shows the general location of the building and its proximity to Shaft
No. 1. The azea has been previously disturbed and the building will be reclaimed at the end of mine
life. Sediment control is in place and any run-off will report to sediment pond SG-1.
Noise from the compressors will be attenuated by the insulation in the building.
Please notify me if you have questions regarding this request for constructing the Compressed Air
Supply Building at Shaft No. 1.
S' rely,
~~~`~~
enry azbe
Enviro ental Engineer
Enclosure: CDRMS Revision Form, Map 53B
Cc: Doug Nolte
Chris Nyikos
