We can testify to the canyon's importance as summer <br />nesting and foraging habitat for this species. <br />The Mexican spotted owl required undisturbed habitat for successful breeding. Further <br />intrusion by commercial quarry operations would make this impossible. Granted the <br />large number of similar quarries already operated in Fremont County, this restriction <br />would not unduly burden this industry. <br />We also request that you incorporate by reference the comments submitted by the <br />Pike's Peak Group of the Sierra Club into our comments.
