Permit No. M-87-049
Dear-Mr. Mount: -- -_
COMMERCE CITY, COLORADO 80022-1535
~FCEIVED
JUN 15 1995
)ivlsvn of waneralS & Geology
Thank you for forwarding, for our comments, the application to amend [he Bromley Lakes Pit Permit
Number M-87-049. This Department has finished its review of the application and cannot recommend
approval of the amendment, due to the dry mining aspects contained in the amendment.
The Bromley Lakes Pit is located West of Brighton Road, inclose proximity to an area where we have
received complaints concerning water levels in alluvial wells. We believe that if dry nursing is approved
for [he Bromley Lakes Pi[ it will will adversly affect the alluvial wells in [he area.
The Slate of Colorado has not, in the past, been responsive to citizen complaints concerning the damages
to water wells from gravel mining activities. Mitigating these damages has been left up to the County and
in some cases the generosity of the mining company.
Thank you for your consideration in this matter. If you should have any questions concerning this
response or need any additional information, please feel free to contact me.
