:- <br />u ~ <br />NOTICE OF PROPOSED DECISION <br />The Colorado Mined Land Reclamativn Divisivn proposes that an application to <br />renew a valid, existing permit to conduct coal mining and reclamation <br />operations submitted by the Colorado Yampa Coal Company (CYCC) for the Eckman <br />Park idine Complex be approved. <br />The operation is located in Routt County, approximately twenty miles southwest <br />of Steamboat Springs, Colorado. The mine is a surface mine •with an <br />anticipated maximum production capacity of 1.2 million tons per year. The <br />coal to be mined is federally awned, and the surface to be affected is <br />federally and privately owned. The permit area encompassas approximately <br />7,050.0 acres in Sections 7, 8, 9, 76, 17, 18, 19 and 30 of T4N, R86W; Section <br />13, 24 and 25 of T4N, R8751; Sections 19, 20, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33 and 34 of <br />TSN, R86W and Sec*_ions 24, 25 and 30' of TSN, R87'd. <br />This proposed approval decisivn is based on a finding that the proposed <br />oo~ration will comply with all requirements of the Colorado Surface Coal <br />Mining Reclamation Act, C.R.S. 34-33-101, et seq., and the regulations <br />promulgated thereunder. <br />Copies of the proposed decision including stipulations, are on file for public <br />inspection at the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division, Room 423, <br />Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203 and at the <br />Cvunty Clerk's Office in Routt Cvunty, 522 Lincoln Box 773598, Steamb~~at <br />Springs, CO. Persons with an interest that may be adversely affected by the <br />proposed decisivn may request a formal hearing before the i4ined Land <br />Reclamation Board on the proposed decision. Such request must be made within <br />thirty (30) days of the initial publication of this notice, must be in <br />writing, and must state with reasR(able specificity the reasons for the <br />request and the objections to the ~~ioposed decision. <br />5478G <br />
