Dudash <br />Division of Minerals and Geology <br />1313 Sherman Street, Room 215 <br />Denver, CO 80203 <br />®~C 0 6 2001 <br />Division of Minerals & Geology <br />Re: Bowie Resources Limited <br />Bowie No 1 Mine <br />Subsidence Monitoring <br />Permit No. C-81-038 <br />Dear Mr. Dudash: <br />On Behalf of Bowie Resources Limited, we are submitting a Technical Revision to the <br />mining permit concerning a request to suspend all subsidence monitoring and reporting <br />requirements, beginning with the 2002 monitoring year. <br />BRL asserts that because underground mining operations ceased over 4 years ago, <br />that because no significant vertical movements have been observed during this 4 year <br />period, that because the stipulations of Federal coal lease C-37210 concerning certain <br />mining restrictions were implemented during the life of the mine, and because the <br />mining methods employed were expected to provide nearly immediate subsidence <br />impacts, no further monitoring is appropriate. <br />BRL has included with this submittal 1.) a referral drawing that depicts the current <br />monitoring points in relationship with the mine workings and the most recent mining <br />districts that could affect them, 2.) a summary tables for all recorded monitoring events <br />are included in a format similar to the Annual Subsidence Report, 3.) a one page <br />summary that reflects the status of each of the currently monitored points, their vertical <br />movement over the last four years, when each point could have last been affected, the <br />most recent year the point could have been affected and the distance the point is from <br />the district that could have affected it. <br />A new page 144 for Volume 1, Section 2.05.6 is included to reflect this Technical <br />Revision.
