Long <br /> Division Director <br />Craig, CO 81625 <br />Re: Yoast Mine (Permit No. C-1994-082) <br />Permit Renewal Application No. 1 (RIY-I) <br />Dear Mr. Schneider: <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 118, <br />Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on February 1, 2000, an application to renew an existing permit <br />to conduct coal mining operations at the Yoast Mine was considered complete for the purposes of filing. All <br />review and comment periods as provided in the Colorado Surface Mining Reclamation Act and the Rules initiate <br />from this date of filing. <br />Seneca Coal Company proposes to continue Surface coal mining and/or reclamation operations on land located <br />approximately 7 miles southwest of Hayden, Colorado. The permit area is further described as follows: <br />T6N, R87W, Portions of Sections 28, 29 and 32 <br />TSN, R87W, Portions of Sections 5, 8, l6, 17, 18, 19, 20, 29, 30 <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land aze shoXm on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle maps of Mt. Harris & Dunckley. <br />77tis is an application for successive renewal of a valid, existing permit to conduct surface mining and reclamation <br />activities in Colorado. The right of successive renewal applies only to lands and activities which were permitted <br />during the previous term. This application does not include extensions of the permit area or significant new <br />activity within the permit area. <br />A copy of the renewal application is available for public inspection at the Routt County Courthouse, Box 773598, <br />Steamboat Springs, CO 80477, and at the Division office.
