,~,~ Weather conditions may modify the above schedule but twelve samples will be
::~
collected for the water year.
Flow measurements will be determined from the on stage readings and
corresponding rating curves. Periodic gaging of the stream transects will
be conducted to maintain an accurate rating curve.
The four (4) water quality samples will be obtained during March, June,
August, and September. However, i,i streams are ice covered in March, the
March sample will be collected during ~Ipril.
Monitoring of Sites 302, 301, and 69 will be conducted during the irrigation
season only; flow and field parameters and water quality will be obtained on
a monthly basis. Sites 304 and 307 are measured from March/early April
through October for water level only. These sites are used to correlate the
stream water level with the water level of the adjacent alluvial wells.
- _ Site 14 requires an individual sampling regime since it typically flows only
during spring runoff. Therefore, once Site 14 begins discharging, monthly
i-^
`: 1 flow measurements and field parameters will be collected. Four (4) full
" suite samples will be obtained commencing with runoff.
~~. Effluent monitoring consists of water quality and flow measurements and is
conducted according to the approved methodology. and schedules outlined
within Permit CO-0027154. The NPDES permit is located in Exhibit 5 of the
Permit Renewal document. Data from the discharge points will be included
with the Annual Hydrologic Monitoring Report. Additionally, copies of the
Discharge Monitoring Report are forwarded to the Division.
The spoil spring monitoring plan involves an annual spoil spring survey and
collection of flow, field parameters and water samples. During the month of
May, the annual spoil spring survey will be conducted throughout the
permitted area of Mines 1, 2, and Eckman Park. Any spring(s) discovered at
the time of the survey wi 11 be plotted on the map and wi 11 be measured for
flow and field parameters. If the flow from a single spring or the combined
~:; flow from immediately adjacent springs exceeds 35 gpm, a full suite sample
will be collected and the spring(s) will be incorporated into the usual
;_`
MR 90-58 Ex. 8-4 Revised 09/07/90
