N. Reclamation Reconmlendations <br />2002 Castillo Gravel Pit <br />All available topsoil will be stock piled during excavation. Upon <br />completion of the mining operations all slopes will be shaped and <br />graded. Finished slopes shall be 4:1 or flatter. <br />Topsoil will be spread over the entire mined area to a depth of not less <br />than 6 inches or greater than 12 inches. <br />Upon completion of top soiling: <br />Option 1-The entire area will be seed to a cover crop of oats. Oats <br />will be seeded at a rate of 25-30 bulk pounds of weed free Oat seed per <br />acre. The cover crop will be seeded prior to May ls`. The cover crop <br />will not be mechanically harvested or grazed. <br />The attached Seed Mixture will be drilled into the standing cover crop <br />during November. <br />Option 2- The attached Seed Mixture will be drilled in the time frame <br />specified on the Grass Seeding Plan (Nov.-April 1). Certified Weed <br />Free straw or grass hay will be used as a mulch at a rate of 25001bs. <br />/acre and shall be crimped at depth to not more than 1"deep. <br />The entire area will be excluded from grazing until the seeding is fully <br />established. If necessary the area will be fenced. <br />Noxious weeds shall be controlled by mechanical or chemical <br />methods. <br />Excessive runoff from the site shall be controlled using dikes, <br />containment reservoirs or drainage cuh~erts as requited. <br />
