Assuming that the performance warranty release is granted, some
additional items will also need to be addressed as follows:
1. Rule 6.3.1(2) requires that names of all adjacent landowners
of record must be shown. Please add these names and resubmit
this map.
Please revise paragraph 4 of Exhibit C to state that all
available topsoil up to a depth six inches will be salvaged
for future use in reclaiming the site. Also, please identify
how the salvaged topsoil will be protected during storage (ie;
seeded with a vegetative cover until needed).
Under section 6.3.4(b), the original
5:1 reclaimed slopes. In Exhibit C
was indicated that by mining through
in this expansion, a more usable
However, in Exhibit D, it is stated
will be regraded to 3:1 slopes.
change is requested and
slopes as committed to in
application committed to
of this application, it
a hill that is contained
`lat area would result.
that the remaining banks
?lease explain why this
has Area A been reclaimed to 5:1
the original permit?
4. For Exhibit E, there should be two maps. One showing the
mining plan and one showing the reclamation plan. The mining
plan map must have the permit boundary clearly labeled on it
or provide a legend that describes it along with arrows
showing the direction in which mining is proceeding. The
extent of disturbance must also be delineated. The
reclamation plan map must show the gradient of the reclaimed
slopes and identify where topsoil has been reapplied and at
what depths.
This concludes the initial review for this amendment. As
previously stated, the first step will be to request and receive
release on the reclaimed portions of the pit which are those marked
as Area A on Exhibit E. Assuming that a release is granted and
items 1-4 above are adequately addressed, a decision on the
proposed amendment will be made at that time.
If you have any questions, please contact me.
Sincerely,
C1 ~~~
Anthony J.
