The responses are numbered as presented
in your May 5, 1993, letter.
/ 2.0 Descriation of Pile Configuration and Phasing 5
I ~/ 1. MCC has deleted the reference to curves depicting th~ elevation versus
oi!/ capacity of the pile by phases, as the curves (Figures) 2.1 to 2.5 in the
existing Exhibit 51 are out of date and the volume information is
/ sufficiently presented in Tables 1 and 2.
p~/ v 2. Amore accurate density of 85 pcf was utilized in the revised Exhibit 51
Y~
S; n
t1o~t 5 ' (o~+1Qpl,~coo-,4E5(S(see footnote #2). In the existing Exhibit 51, a density of 80 pcf was
u il~to-k1 ~d~'~.0~ ~5pt~utilized.
3. The topsoil and subsoil volumes presented in Table 2.3 of the existing
Exhibit 51 were based on four feet of cover. Subsequently, a variance to
the four feet cover requirements was approved for the lower refuse pile to
'J an average cover of 18" to 24". The topsoil and subsoil volumes shown
in Table 3 of the revised Exhibit 51 reflect the range of volumes required
for the average cover depth (or 9" to 12" of both subsoil and topsoil).
The maximum amount of topsoil for Phases I through III in existing
Exhibit 51 is therefore different than in the revised Exhibit.
a. See the explanation above and the footnotes for Table 3 in revised
Exhibit 51.
