Long <br />Division Director <br />Re: New Elk Mine (Our File No. C-81-012) <br />Technical Revision No. 31 (Silo Loadout Belt and Sediment Control System) <br />Dear Mr. Geier: <br />Pursuant to Title 34, Article 35, Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised <br />Statutes, the Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice that on <br />October 8, 1993, a technical revision application for a permit to conduct coal <br />mining operations by Basin Resources, Inc., 14300 Highway 12, Weston, <br />Colorado 81091, was deemed complete for the purposes of filing. All reviews <br />and comment periods as provided in the Act and Regulations promulgated <br />thereunder initiate from this day of filing. <br />The applicant proposes to revise the silo loadout system and to construct a <br />sediment control system for the silo area. <br />The affected area is located in Section 23, Township 33 South, Range 68 West <br />of the 6th P.M., Las Animas County, at the New Elk Mine, 25 miles west of <br />Trinidad, along Highway 12. This tract of land is shown on USGS 7.5 minute <br />Quadrangle map of Vigil. <br />A copy of the technical revision application is <br />inspection at the Las Animas County Courthouse, <br />Room 104, Trinidad, Colorado.
