PAGE 2 <br />JUNE 28, 1997 <br />DAN MATHEWS <br />The proposed B-portal which will be located in the existing D-Portal area, will be at a higher elevation <br />than the B-Seam mine. Please note that the B-Seam mine plan and the plan to access B-Seam <br />from the existing D-Seam working has already been approved by DMG. See Map 120 of the permit. <br />We do not expect to see any undergrountl water discharging out of this portal. Pages V-19 and V-20 <br />of the permit discuss various flood levels and how they are below the elevation of the portals. <br />Z V~ <br />~ N' <br />r'~ <br />The construction of the portal is planned to take place in early August, 1997. An expedited review and <br />approval of this application will be greatly appredated. <br />A page from the List of Maps, and Page III-2, IV-3 and IV-4 of the permit have been revised to reflect <br />this revision. Since the portal is being consfructed in the disturbed area, the only reclamation cost <br />should be for sealing the portal once the mine is permanently shut down. Please see page V-19 for <br />a discussion on the reclamation of the slope entries. <br />I am also enclosing two copies of Map 101 and a revised page of the List of Maps, revised pages 111- <br />2, IV-3 and IV-4 alongwith a completed revision form and a proposed public notice.
