RE: TR-33, REFUSE PILE SA. DESERADO MINE. C-81-018 N Dear Ms. Pavlik: I am responding to your preliminary adequacy review letter of January 14, 1994. WFU has revised Maps 77A and 80A submitted with the application. The revised Map 77A shows a separate ditch to drain runoff from the undisturbed area adjacent to the RP-5A. the two ditches will be separated about 10 feet apart. The extent of the undisturbed area has been estimated at 67 acres. I am also enclosing SEDCAD run printout for the ditch to handle the undisturbed area 100-year, 26- hour runoff. It should be included at the end of Illustration 6A. The revised Map 80A shows revised ditch details. Note that the ditches will be seeded and energy dissipation devices, such as cobble dams, utilized on slopes where velocities are expected to exceed 4 feet per second and may cause erosion problems. The size of the cobblestone will range between 4 to 12 inches. Three copies of Maps 77A and 80A and SEDCAD printout for the undisturbed area runoff ditch design (to be included at the end of Illustration 6A) are enclosed for your files. Sincerely, Murari P.
