7. Mr. Hill expressed an interest in closing out the pit as soon as possible. The matter of a partial warranty release was
discussed. Currently, the operator would qualify for a release of reclamation responsibility for all pit walls that have
been graded to a 3:1 slope, topsoiled, and revegetated; and all pit floor areas that have been topsoiled and
revegetated. Release for these completed tasks can be accommodated via submittal of a request for release of
reclamation responsibilities for these areas in conformance with the requirements of Rule 4.16 (please see attached
copy). This inspector recommends the operator include in the release request a map delineating these areas and
their respective acreages.
8. In order for the operator to be released from reclamation responsibilities for other portions of the pit floor, the
operator wilC need to either topsoil-and revegetate such area"s or submit a modificatioh to the redamation plan fdr
these areas. The Division is willing to consider other methods of stabilization for these areas provided they are
compatible with the post-mining land uses. Following stabilization according to the approved plan, those areas can
then be considered for release of reclamation responsibility. The operator is encouraged to contact the Division if
further clarification is needed for these concerns.
I & E Contact Address
NAME: Carl V.
