As per our telephone conversation on June 03, 1999, further expression of
the existing seep potentially associated with West Pit ground water was
identified along the north bank of Rito Seco approximately 50 feet east of
the french drain pumpback system. The location of this seep is consistent
with the conceptual model presented in the TR-26 investigation report.
Identification of this expression was reported to you via voice mail on June
02, 1999. Electrical conductivity readings of this expression and the
existing seep were taken on June 02, with readings being 1049 and 1543
uhmos respectively.
On June 03, 1999, the containment and pumpback system was expanded to
assure containment. The containment system was constructed using
interlocking steel pilon material. An additional sump pump was installed in
the expanded containment and collected water is pumped to the french drain
system. We will continue to contain the flow and return it to the West Pit
backfill via the french drain collection sump and the infiltration trench.
