Lonq <br />Din jinn Direciar <br />This letter is to inform you that the Colorado Division of Minerals <br />and Geology has received a bond reduction request for the North <br />Thompson Creek Mines. The sites for which the bond release is <br />being requested are the North Thompson Creek mine site and the unit <br />train loadout. The mine site is located in Pitkin Couty in <br />Sections 34 and 35, T 85, R 89W, 6th PM. The loadout site is <br />located in Garfield County in Section 6, T SS, R SSW and Sections <br />20, 29, 30 and 32, T 75, R 88W, 6th PM. <br />MINREC, Inc. has requested that the Division reduce the bond from <br />$393,000 to $115,000 based on vegetation studies Conducted during <br />1991 and 1992 which proposes that the vegetation established on <br />site is adequate to control erosion and prevent excess sediment <br />loading to North Thompson Creek. <br />The Division is required to conduct a bond release inspection <br />pursuant to Rule 3.03.2(2). The inspection will be held on October <br />6, 1993. The surface owner and agent or lessee may participate <br />with the Division in making the inspection.
