Bear <br />Bear Coal Company Inc. <br />Somerset, CO 81434 <br />RE: Technical Revision Submitted June 17, 1985 Concerning the Mining of <br />Federal Lease No. C-0117-192 by Bear Mine No. 3 - File No. C-033-81 <br />Dear Mr. Bear: <br />The Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division (MLRD) has reviewed for <br />completeness the technical revision submitted by Bear Coal Company. The <br />Technical Revision proposes to mine Federal Lease No. C-0117192 located west <br />of the currently mined lease no. D-052501. Since an additional lease and <br />significant acreage is involved, this revision must be handled as a permit <br />revision. Additionally, the following areas must be addressed in order to <br />deem the application complete. <br />1. Maps to show extent of surface subsidence based on caluclations of <br />angle of draw. <br />2. Hydrological information concerning impact of subsidence on surface <br />hydrology and ground water hydrology. <br />3. A map locating springs and seeps and background data on flow rates <br />and water qualities. <br />4. Address how subsidence will affect renewable resources and the <br />recovery of coal resources above the C seam. <br />5. A map showing depth to coal. <br />6. A demonstration that upon reclamation, the portal seal will be able <br />to withstand the increased head of the additional workings. <br />7. A detailed extraction map to show the orientation of panels to be <br />extracted, direction of extraction, time and sequence for <br />developing mining and panel extraction. <br />8.
