Mny 11, 2004
Stephen Gibb /
0124 Davenport Loop
PO Box 8916
Breckenridge, Colorado 80424
Division of Materials and Geology J
1313 Sherman St., Room 215
Denver Colorado 80203
Dear Sirs,
/jvl- ~~~ Osz
REC~ti~~'T~
MAY 12 2004
Division of Minarais & Geology
~~
I hove just learned of n request for n special use permit by L.G. Everist for
crushing on the Mascot Placer. I am very much opposed to this permit.
My concern is for the current and future populations in the Swan Valley.
Not only will this operation have a negative effect on the people that live
here and their safety but also the fragile environment. Rock crushing is not
compatible with the Master Plan or with the activities of residents and
guests in the aren. Tiger Road was built with low volume in mind. The type
of traffic on Tiger Road is multi-use with pedestrians, bicyclists and horses.
The manufacturing of rock will significantly increase the amount of
industrial traffic ns well as the type of vehicles using Tiger Road. The
safety of all is a major concern. This permit will change this aren from
residential and recreational use to industrial and will adversely affect the
advantages of Open Space and back country use. The quality of life for all
that use this area will be changed forever.
Please, consider this decision for all that will be affected, those that are
here now and those that wish to come.
Respectfully,
Stephen Gibb
~~
,~-L
