The accompanying application
package includes the following components:
• Check for Application Fee
• Land Use Change Application
• Supporting Exhibits
• Supporting Map
As a result of recent concerns over methane levels in active working azeas and in view of
progressive mine development plans, Oxbow has commissioned a mine ventilation study to
evaluate overall mine ventilation requirements. Preliminary information from the
ventilation study resulted in deferral of construction of the emergency methane
degassification borehole (Conditional Approval -Gunnison County, 7/9/97). Final results
of the study will determine the need for and locatio^ of any required degassification
borehole(s) and whether the proposed ventilation shaft will be an open intake shaft with
steel frame and expanded metal cover or a complete ventilation installation with fan,
housing, and associated control and monitoring systems. We aze proceeding with plaruting
and permitting of supplemental ventilation facilities concurrently with the ventilation study
to provide for timely implementation of ventilation modifications once the study is
completed.
P.0 Box 774018 Tel: 970 879 fi260 Sarvrn9 me hVorld's En crrunme mar Nee Js
7475 Pine Grove Road Fax' 970 879 9046
Sieamhoar Springs, Colorado
soar
