Cattany <br /> Division Director <br /> Natural Resource Trustee <br />Re: Yoast Mine (Permit No. C-1994-082) <br />Permit Revision Application No. 2 (PR-2) <br />Deaz Routt County Commissioners: <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Tille 34, Article 33, Section I l8, Paragaph 3, <br />of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on April 7, 2005, a permit revision application for a pemtit to conduct coal mining <br />operations, Permit No. C-1994-082 by Seneca Coal Company, was considered complete for the purposes of filing. All review <br />and comment periods as provided in the Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act and the Rules and Regulations of the <br />Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board for Coal Mining inifiate from this date of filing. <br />This Permit Revision updates the ]ifeof--mine plan for the Yoast operation, and contains modifications to the mining, <br />reclamafion and associated plan and acreages for the remaining life-of-operation. Several factors and other internal <br />considerations have resulted in a corporate decision by Peabody Energy to cease coal production at the Yoast mine in eazly <br />2006. This Pemut Revision is a result of this decision, and addresses the revised mining plan and the revised backfilling and <br />grading schedule. The operator is proposing an overall reduction in disturbed area and affected azea acres. <br />The Surface coal mining operation is located approximately 7 miles Southwest of Hayden, Colorado. The permit area is further <br />described as follows: <br />T6N, R87 W, Portions of Sections 28, 29 and 32 <br />TSN, R87W, All of Section ]7; Portions of Sections 5, 8, 16, 18, 19, 2Q 29, 30 <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land aze shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Mount Harris and Dunckley. <br />A copy of the revision application is available for public inspecfion at the Hayden Public Library, 201 E. Jefferson Avenue, <br />Hayden, Colorado 81639.
