The natwal
slope is to the Northeast. The slopes into the two gulches have no topsoil !A remove, extending
back into the flat azea on top of the mesa. The topsoll needed fora 3 to 1 slope will be
stockpied in area needed and maybe some can be hauled and dumped over the side and spread
with crawler when removed. Removed, hauled and located with a loader. The remainder of
topsoll will be hauled down to the pit [loor with a carryall to the east side of mined area. The
woody debris wlll be removed and placed inside the east boundary. The boundary Imes are
straight and the deposit is not, leaving ample room for the small amount of debris. Any
unseilable material can be used to anchor debris. The overbwden that Ls not topsoll can be
blended with the pit run sold form the top half of the the deposit and used as a binder. The
lower portion has more and larger rock which fs better for crushing. Sometimes 1 have blended
subsoll into Class 6 for special applications. Up to this point I have accumulated no excess
subsoil and expect none.
The dUectlon of mining shall be from south to Northwest. Processed stockpiles w1ll be
mostly where processing takes place on the pit floor where the wind is less. The gradients you
asked for, can only be what the mazket calls for and is contained in the deposit. Sand
graduated up to pit run. The two gulches that extend into DS&G, have nothing to mine 1n
ahem. This subtracts fmm surface area. Past use of these gulches has always been iirigatlon
seepage and waste water run ott from farmland to the south that is now DS~G gravel pit. As
their milling progresses to the west, waste water will stop and lrrlgalton seepage will be less. No
farming means no waste water. However, any drainage will be directed to the same discharge
points. These points are already stable with vegetation that has been established in the past.
The agreement with DS&G is to mine ridge between two gravel pits. I expect to progress as per
agreement. Comments made to me by the help working there, ind[cates they have been alerted.
The slopes when approaching the fence need to be made safe, but small enough so the removal
of the remaining deposit does not interrupt the placement of the fence for too long a period.
Grading of pit floor wW be done for rangeland. Any future use other than rangeland.
would need to be determined after reclamatlon is approved and released. Anew county Master
Plan is on the table. Also the uncertainty of development and taxes may alter intent. The
