TRAPP~RI MINING INC.
III IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
999
June 23, 1999
R~CEIV~.D
Mr. Tom Kaldenbach
Environmental Protection Specialist
Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology
1313 Sherman St. Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
JUN 2~ 1999
Division of Minerab 8 Geology
Rer Permit No. C-81-010; Technical Revision TR=82; East Middle Flume Gulch Sediment Pond
Dear Mr. Kaldenbach:
Please find enclosed duplicaIe copies of permit revision application materials for TR-82, East Middle
Flume Gulch Sediment Control Pond. Weather permitting, Trapper intends to construct this pond during
the upwming construction season. As demonstrated by the enclosed materials, this pond will be
sufficient to control sediment from the dishirbed portions of the watershed throughout [he life of [hc
project. The maximum disturbance scenario within the watershed was utilized in designing the pond.
To process this revision, the following changes must be incorporated into Trapper's mining and
reclamation permit.
1) Revised Table 4.8-6 (page 4-186a)
2) Revised Table 4.8-7 (page 4-190a)
3) Revised Table 4.8-8b (page 4-2228)
4) Rcviscd Table 4.8-1 l (page 4-240)
5) Revised Table 4.8-12 (page 4-241)
6) Revised Appendix Q Table of Contents (Volume VII-A)
7) Appendix Q, Section XXXIII materials (insert in Volume VII-B)
8) Revised Map M51, sheet 3 of 3 (Volume XV)
9) Revised Map M52 (Volume XV - to be submitted under separate cover)
Estimated wazer depletion stemming from the constmc[ion of the East Middle Flume Gulch Sediment
Control Pond is ].72 ac-ft (0.86 acres x 2' annual evaporative loss). An updated "Estimate of Annual
Use and Evaporative Loss of Surface Waters Discharged From Trapper Mine" (presented on page I-596)
was calculated incorporating the proposed pond configuration and including ~vazer depletion and
augmentation data from the 1998 Annual Report. The resulting updated depletion estimate, 108.71 ac-ft,
remains below the 130.39 ac-ft previously estimated and therefore does not require any further action.
P.O.
