11 <br />SECTION 3: PROTOCOL FOR SURFACE WATER SAMPLE COLLECTION AND <br />' HANDLING <br />3.1 Water Sample Handling and Management <br />' Surface sample handling and management will be conducted in <br />accordance with the procedures outlined in Section 2.1. <br />' 3.2 Surface Water Sample Collection <br />1 This protocol outlines procedures and equipment for the collection <br />of representative surface water samples from the stream monitoring <br />stations. <br />' 3.2.1 Cleaning of Sampling ui ment: All equipment used for sample <br />collection will be cleaned before sampling, and between samples. <br />t <br />Sampling buckets will be cleaned prior to initial use, and after <br />each subsequent use, in the following manner: <br />' (1) deionized water wash; <br />(2) tap water rinse; ~'~ ' <br />1 <br />(3) total air dry; <br />1 <br />(4j wrapped in aluminum foil or plastic immediately after <br />' cleaning. <br />' 3.2.2 Sample Containers: Containers used in the collection of samples <br />will be supplied by the laboratory performing the analysis.
