NOTICE OF PROPOSED DECISION <br />The Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology proposes to Approve with conditions Permit Renewal <br />Application No. 5 (RN-5), submitted by Central Appalachia Mining, LLC for a coal mining permit at the <br />McClane Canyon Mine (Permit No. C-1980-004). The proposed renewal will allow for continued mining <br />and reclamation operations at the site. <br />The McClane Canyon Mine is located in Garfield County, approximately 20 miles north of Loma, Colorado, <br />Colorado. Coal interest at this underground mine is Federal and Private, and the surface to be affected by <br />surface operations and facilities is Federal land, administered by the Bureau of Land Management. The <br />permit azea encompasses approximately 2,560.00 acres. <br />This proposed decision is based on a finding that the proposed operation will comply with all requirements <br />of the Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act, Section 34-33-101 et seq., C.R.S., and the <br />regulations promulgated thereunder. <br />A copy of the "Proposed Decision and Findings of Compliance", including any stipulations, is on file for <br />public inspection at the Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology, Room 215 Centennial Building, <br />1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203, Grand Junction Office of the Division of Minerals and <br />Geology, 101 South 3rd, Suite 301, Grand Junction, CO 81501, and at the Mesa County Clerk and Recorder's <br />Office, 6~' and Rood, Grand Junction, Colorado. Persons with an interest that may be adversely affected by <br />the proposed decision may request a formal hearing before the Mined Land Reclamation Boazd on the <br />proposed decision. Such request must be made within thirty (30) days of the initial publication of this notice, <br />must be in writing, and must state with reasonable specificity the reasons for the request and the objections to <br />the proposed decision. <br />
