Mr. Joe Shoemaker September 9. 1993 5
15. The PHC should include predictions of water level depletions in all the aquifers.
Predictions have been provided only for the Middle Sandstone and the Twentymile
Sandstone. Please provide this information
16. The calculations provided for predicting worst-case depletions in the Twentymile
Sandstone as a result of mining activities utilize a dischazge rate of 100 gpm.
However, current mine inflows aze approximately 673 gpm and are predicted to
increase to as much as 1800 gpm. CEC should revise the calculations or provide an
explanation for the discrepancy.
C. Subsidence Control Plan
1. The revised pages submitted by CEC for this section adequately address the
Division's concerns. One reference to well 2S9 as depicted on Subsidence
Monitoring Map 31 was made on revised page 2.05.6(6)-22. The most current Map
31 the Division has is dated October 1991. Well 269 is not identified on this map.
Please, either revise the map reference to a map the well is noted on or revise Map
31 to locate well 259.
D. Operations Plan
1. CECs explanation regazding the roof and ventilation plan for the No. S and
6 mines is acceptable.
2. Since the projected volume for refuse produced remains unchanged, no
revised pages are necessary.
E. Revegetation Suceess Criteria
1. The revised page 2.05.4-24Ra is acceptable.
F. Surface and Coal Ownership
1. The revised pages submitted with updated addresses are adequate.
Please submit the requested information as a technical revision. The additional revisions
may be included with the current revision of the updated information CEC submitted to the
Division August 23, 1993.
Sincerely,
~ ~~~
Jan H.
