Long <br />Re: Marr Mine Permit Renewal (RN-031, Permit No. C-80-006 Division Dircclor <br />Dear Mr. Green: <br />Pursuant to Title 33, Article 34, Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, the <br />Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice that on September 25, 1995, an <br />application for renewal of a valid, existing permit to conduct coal mining operations, Permit <br />No. C-80-006, by Kerr Coal Company, P.O. Box 487, Walden, Colorado 80480, was <br />deemed complete for the purposes of filing. All reviews and comment periods as provided <br />in the Act and Regulations promulgated thereunder initiate from this day of filing. <br />The applicant proposes to continue conducting reclamation operations on lands located in <br />the following sections: <br />Mine Area: Township 8 North. Rance 78 West <br />Section 2 <br />Township 9 North, Ranoe 78 West <br />Sections 15, 22, 23, 25, 26, 27 and 35 <br />Loadout Area: Township 9 North, Range 79 West <br />Sections 28 and 29 <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle maps of <br />Johnny Moore Mountain, Gould NW, Walden and Eagle Hill. <br />In order for us to approve this renewal application, we are required to confirm that <br />projections and assumptions in the permit remain valid and that the operation is in <br />compliance with the approved permit. We are requesting your agency's evaluation of the <br />renewal application with respect to the continued validity of the original finding that "the <br />proposed operations will not adversely affect any publicly owned park or place listed on or <br />those places eligible for listing, as determined by the SHPO, on the National Register of <br />Historic Places, unless approved jointly by the Board and the Federal, State, or local <br />agency with jurisdiction over the park or place." <br />Enclosed are pertinent portions of the renewal and/or the original application, including a <br />mine plan map. The mine is currently reclaiming; no new surface pits will be initiated <br />
