Lorencito Canyon <br />C-96-084 <br />TR-13 Topsoil Distribution Plan <br />Proposed Decision <br />Public Notice <br />NOTICE OF PROPOSED DECISION <br />The Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology proposes to <br />Approve Technical Revision Application No. 13 {TR-73) for <br />the Lorencito Canyon Mine (Permit No:~C-1996-084), sub- <br />mitted by Lorencito Coal Company,. LLC. The operator is re- <br />questing approval of changes to the topsoil redistribution <br />plan on the disturbed area. The revised plan will remedy a <br />topsoil deficit and help ensure revegetation success of re- <br />claimed area. <br />The Lorencito Canyon Mine is a surface coal mine located in <br />Las Animas County approximately 3 miles west of Segundo <br />on Hwy 72. Coal interest is Private, and the surfacre affected <br />is Private land. The permit area encompasses approximately <br />3,142.00 acres. <br />This proposed decision is based on a finding that the pro- <br />posed operation will comply with all requirements of the Col- <br />orado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act, Section 34-33- <br />101, et seq., C.R.S., and the regulatiods promulgated there- <br />under. <br />Copies of the proposed decision, including stipulations, are <br />on file for public inspection at the Colorado Division of Miner- <br />als and Geology, Room 215, Centennial Building, 1373 <br />Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203. Persons with an <br />interest that may be adversely affected by the proposed de- <br />cision may request a formal hearing before [he Mined Land <br />Reclamation Board on the proposed decision. Such request <br />must be made within ten (10) days of the initial publication of <br />this notice, must be in wilting, and must state with reasona- <br />ble specificity the reasons for the request and the objections <br />to the proposed decision. <br />.,v~.+a c,,.,. ,.,. , ..... <br />Published: January 20, 2005 <br />
