Long <br />, Division Director <br />Re: Bowie Mine No. 1 (Permit No. C-1981-038) <br />Technical Revision Application No. 35 (TR-35) <br />Remove Train Loadout and Stockpile Area from Pertnit <br />Dear Sir or Madam: <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 116, <br />Paragraph 4, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on March 19, 2001, an application to revise coal mining <br />operations at [he Bowie Mine No. I was considered complete for the purposes of filing. The revision was <br />submitted by Bowie Resources Limited. All review and comment periods as provided in the Act and the <br />Regulations initiate from this date of filing. <br />Technical Revision No. 35 provides for the removal of the Bowie No. 1 Train Loadout and stockpile area, <br />including the associated reclamation liability, from the Bowie No. 1 Permit. Under a separate revision, Technical <br />Revision No. 19, the train Loadout and stockpile area, including the associated reclamation liability, would be <br />added to the Bowie No. 2 Permit. No other changes would occur with this revision. <br />The Underground coal mining operation is on land located approximately 3 miles north of Paonia, Colorado. The <br />permit azea is further described as follows: <br />Portions of Sections 1, 2, 3, 10-15, 22-25, Township 13 South, Range 92 West of the bth P.M. <br />Portions of Sections 5-8, 17-19, 29-32, Township 13 South, Range 91 West of the 6th P.M. <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Bowie. <br />The applicant is required to publish notice in a local newspaper that this application has been deemed complete. <br />At the time of publication of this notice, the applicant is additionally required to place a copy of this application at <br />the Paonia Public Library, P.O. Box 969, Paonia, CO 81428, and at the Division office. For additional <br />information or to provide written comments, contact the Division of Minerals and Geology, Room 215, <br />1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203, (303) 866-3567. In order for us to comply with regulatory time <br />frames, we request that comments be submitted within fifteen (15) days of this letter.
