materials which enhance t~growth of E1 Paso County ~ my opinion
the mines are costing the ties more than they can a ord already.
The strip mines are destroying the very reason that people move to this
area and build, namely the scenic beauty of the area. If people find
the area unsightly - a city of strip mines - they will not be inclined
to move into the area. They will choose somewhere else. The cost of
strip mines in the Colorado Springs front range in terms of air quailty, ~
public safety, recreational assets, area attractiveness, and wildlife
habitat, greatly out weigh the low cost of building materials.
Please do not permit the Snyder Quarry to be admended.
Sincerely, / ~
~Ct~c~ o~ • 't~'~Crr,tio~i
Dana L. Okamoto
4930 Granby Circle
Colorado Springs, CO 50919
