We were present at the informal conference held at the Colorado City Community Center on May 19, 2000. It has been suggested that as part of reclamation of Lot 15, ground water or run-off will be directed or allowed to drain into Graneros Creek. This leads to otu concern. Our domestic well is located approximately 25 to 30 feet from Graneros Creek. During the last Flood (Spring 1999) the Graneros Creek went out of it's banks by at least 10 feet leaving a very small butler between our well and possible contamination. We are blessed with a good well. Some people in this area transport water in to fill cisterns. How our domestic well will be affected is our main concern, but we also have concerns regarding our house and how it will be affected by additional ground water run-off from the pit into Graneros Creek. We would appreciate an investigation by your Division into the potential affects of increasing the volume to Graneros Creek (especially during adverse weather conditions) under the above-mentioned permit and conversion application.
