Long <br />Denver, CO 80203 Division Dveuor <br />Re: Bear Mine (Permit No. C-81.033) <br />Technical Revision Application No. 25 <br />Add Design of Treatment Pond to Permit <br />Dear Mr. Simpson: <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 116, <br />Paragraph 4, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on December 03, 1997, an application to revise coal mining <br />operations at the Bear Mine was considered complete for the purposes of filing. The revision was submitted by Bear <br />Coal Company, Inc.. All review and comment periods as provided in the Act and the Regula[ions initiate from this <br />date of filing. <br />The proposed revision provides for the construction of a mine water treatment pond. <br />The underground coal mining operation is on land located near the town of Somerset, Colorado. The permit area <br />is further described as follows: <br />Portions of Sections 8, 9, and 15; all of Section 16; portions of Sections 17, I8, 20, and 21 Township 13 South, <br />Range 90 West of the 6th P.M. <br />The above-mentioned [[acts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Somerse[. <br />A copy of the technical revision application is available for public inspection at the Gunnison County Courthouse, <br />200 E Virginia, Gunnison, CO 81230, and at the Division office. For additional information or to provide written <br />comments, contact the Division of Mineasls and Geology, Room 215, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, <br />Colorado 80203, (303) 866-3567. In order For us to comply with regulatory time frames, we request that comments <br />be submitted within fifteen (! 5) days of this letter.
