I~
~~
r~
LJ
SouN Permil Boundary
Bowie #2 Mine
Paonia, Colorado
PROJECT NO. 24-004
shown on Figure A-2. We believe that the hazard created by these rocks is low
since there are no structures or operations existing within the rollout area.
The evaluation included simulation of up to 5-foot diameter rocks. Rock
fragments greater than 5-foot diameter, as well as events with multiple rocks, are
possible at this location, but are not considered likely.
LIMITATIONS
This report has been prepared in accordance with generally accepted geological
practices in this area for use by the client for preliminary planning purposes. If
rockfal! mitigation is included in the site-specific development plan, Yeh and
Associates, Inc. should review the proposed design and construction procedure.
The preliminary conclusions and recommendations submitted in this report are
based upon data obtained from the observations made in the field and numerical
modeling. It should be noted that rock fall and rock-fall events are sporadic and
unpredictable. Rock fall can potentially occur at any time and at any location
where slopes are located near the site. The findings and recommendations
given in this report are site-specific, and are only valid for the south boundary
area of Bowie #2 Mine in Paonia, Colorado.
Respectfully submitted,
Reviewed by Marilyn D. Dodson
s
Principal Scientist
