Oct 04 99 03:46p
Sandra d Dave
•
October 3,1999
Jce Dudash
CDMG
1313 Sherman St Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
Fax(303-832-8106
Re: Bowie Resources PR #3
Dear Mr. Dudash,
p.l
III III'I~II"IIIIII
Once again, we reiterate that it is premature to be approving Bowie's
permit revisions. There are many unresolved issues and unanswered
questions. With issues raised. is your adequacy letter of Sept. 24, 1999
still nna.,cwered, how can the public be expected to comment? Water
issues are of great concern and PR #3 is lacking in any details as to
protection. We .wind like to incorporate WSERC's comments into our
letter and add a comment on the sediment pond. We don't think BRL's
plan guarantees zero contamination of the North Fork and surrounding
area as stated. For example, ~~ the pond could only be of help.
Another concern was lack of contingencies for ca~nveyor failure, clean up
plans, specifications of conveyor equipment that: would insure no
increase in noise levels for nearby residents. For example, BRL's new fan
is audible to residents of Garvin Mesa.
In summary, PR #3 as written is too vague to comment. It provides us
no assurances of any protection for our water, air, scenic byways, and
our neighborhoods. Lastly, we wish to go on record as requesting to hold
back any increases in production until the community and federal
authorities have adequately analyzed resulting cumulative impacts.
Concerned Citizens of Delta County
Rir-+~+TMj Rudin
Y~»,~'f~i..~
Dave Bristow
r
~.u.-e- ~.~.~-
970-527-3877
•
Sandra Higman
lv~L `~
~~
.ttl~v~`'..~.
