(MCC) submits the enclosed Minor Revision application for the
amendment of two previously submitted Minor Revisions, MR-321 and MR-327.
MR-321 has been amended to include drilling of one additional hole to aid in the suppression of the
thermal event in the B Seam. This additional hole, a jet hole at 24HG2E12XC, will not require an
expansion of the previously approved pad size and is intended to circumvent the need for the six
previously permitted holes at this pad location. The jet hole is anticipated to house a jet engine,
whose exhaust will be utilized to inert the mine atmosphere. If this action does not succeed in
inerting the atmosphere the option of utilizing the six previously permitted sampling holes as
locations for temporary seals is also discussed. The revised project plan is attached.
MR-327 has been amended to include one additional hole/well to initially facilitate
monitoring/sampling, and then construction of a remote seal in the B Seam. The addition of another
hole will not require an expansion of the previously permitted pad size. The revised project plan is
attached.
We appreciate your consideration and cazeful review of this submittal and, as always, would be
happy to work with you to address any questions or concerns that arise during the review process.
Sincerel ~ ~ ~~ ~
enry A. e
Environmental Engineer
cc: Pete Wyckoff
Phil Schmidt
