All review and comment periods as provided in the Act and the Regulations initiate from <br />this date of filing. <br />The applicant proposes to continue reclamation operations on land located approximately 12 miles east of <br />Walden, Colorado. The permit area is further described as follows: <br />Township 8 North. Ranee 78 West. 6th P.M. <br />Section 2: Portions of SW'k <br />Section 10: SE'/a NE'/a NE'k <br />Section 11: W'fi NW'/a <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Johnny Moore <br />Mountain. <br />The Canadian Mine was a surface mine which was reclaimed in years 1979 through 1981, with a final 55 acres <br />reclaimed in 1987. Two ponds remain on site as permanent impoundments to support the post-mining land use <br />of rangeland and wildlife habitat. Phase I and II bond releases have been granted for the reclamation work <br />accomplished. <br />A copy of the renewal application is available for public inspection at the Jackson County Courthouse, 396 <br />Lafever Street, Walden, Colorado 80480, and at the Division office.
